RESURGE INTERNATIONAL BURN CLINIC AT HOPE HOSPITAL, BANGLADESH
Since 1969, ReSurge International has built medical capacity and provided more than 105,000 surgeries in developing countries. In December of 2014, U.S. medical volunteers from ReSurge International worked with Bangladeshi plastic surgeons at the Hope Hospital in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh to provide training and free burn reconstruction surgeries for disabled patients. Severe burns remain a hidden health crisis in developing countries, particularly for poor women and children. In Bangladesh alone, more than 365,000 people are affected by burns every year.
I produced documentary photography and video to support awareness, advocacy, and fund raising initiatives. A sample of still imagery from this project is below.
